Hip hop music, popularly known as rap music is a new musical genre that was developed in the United States of America by the African Americans and the Latino Americans in the 1970s. This music began in the Bronx area in New York City.

Hip Hop/Rap Music includes stylized rhythm musical compositions that commonly combine rapping, rhythmic and rhyming speech that sounds more like chanting. It was developed as a segment of hip hop culture. Most of the elements consist of sampling beats and bass lines such as synthesized beats and sounds, and also rhythmic beatboxing. This genre has grown massive popularity and fan following over the recent years. The genre also incorporates elements of hip hop culture, DJing, scratching, beatboxing, and bass instrumental tracks.

Names like Kanye West, Jay Z, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar are some of the biggest names in the music industry on earth today.

History of hip hop/rap music

Hip Hop/Rap Music originated in the 1970s; however, it was not recorded officially for the radio or television to play until the year1979. This was mainly due to the lack of acceptance of the genre outside of the ghetto neighborhood. However, with pop music artists collaborating with the hip hop rap artists brought some well-deserved light on the hip hop genre and this gave this genre a big break. Many DJs and bands played the elements of hip hop in the clubs and music festivals. 

In recent years, hip hop/rap music is the most sort after music career for the artists and people love it.
